• It’s just a little under four weeks until we welcome Senaha Sensei for our fall gasshuku (seminar), starting September 15. Registration is open to all styles of karate. There will be a total of four sessions for this karate seminar,  held at the locations below. Please note: we have had to seek alternate venues for Saturday sessions due to Community League Days activities in the city.

This karate seminar will cover the bulk of the Ryusyokai curriculum and offer many insights into traditional Okinawan karate. Each session will cover different information. It is an event for all karateka, regardless of ryuha or level of experience. Senaha Sensei is a widely-respected Okinawan master who has travelled the world extensively teaching this art. Opportunities like this are rare – don’t miss it!

The format will be as follows:

    Friday session:                6-9 p.m.
    South Clareview Community Hall

    Saturday session 1         9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
    Commonwealth Recreation Centre

    Saturday session 2        2 – 5 p.m.
    Clareview Recreation Centre

    Sunday session             10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
    South Clareview Community Hall

The registration form can be found here. Please email the document in Word or PDF format once complete – using your last name in the file (e.g. SMITH 2017 Fall Gasshuku). I will reply with details for payment – via Paypal or E-transfer. Sorry, no cheques will be accepted as payment. Other conditions apply.

All payment must be made at time of registration – thank you for your understanding.

There will be a formal party on Saturday evening (at cost); we will need to know attendance numbers in order to book space for this event (local restaurant). This will be an opportunity to share in fellowship and community of karate. On Okinawa there is a saying – ichariba chodei: once we meet, we are brothers and sisters. We heartily encourage you to come out and get to know your extended karate family better!
